Hi, regarding DEC history . . .Harlan Anderson’s book
I am interested in tech history but find myself looking for more information regarding Ben Gurley. It has to be hard for everyone to talk about. I suppose since so many were veterans they could weather the shock and go on. I couldn’t find any kind of trial information. I have to say when you google Boston in 1963 the year he died there is all this gangland and the Boston Strangler. Plus when you see the history museum’s stuff and find out MIT was the epicenter of the cold war. Plus Updike describing him as such a great guy. Were there any other leads on suspects or any proof of the shooter’s guilt? I understand he was considering leaving III for Control Data. Plus some papers discuss his interest in Berkeley’s (person not school) peace movement. One new paper newly unclassified stated digital techs refused to be promoted because they were getting so much overtime.(the only motive given was tech was disgruntled employee ) Wasn’t everyone kind of scared when the first tech at the MIT Lincoln Lab was “shot in four places.” I have watched too much Soprano etc. on TV obviously but everyone today thinks it should all be CSI. Well, has anyone looked at the evidence?
